Please familiarise yourself and all members of your party in advance of your visit with the Club’s requirements.
DEPOSITS/RESERVATIONS:
Society/Group bookings are normally only taken for groups of 16 or more players. Should the number in your party fall below this number the caterer reserves the right to cancel the meal or charge for a minimum of 16.
We reserve the right to request a deposit and can only guarantee a reservation for a maximum of 14 days without a deposit. Should the deposit not be paid by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled.
The Club reserves the right to cancel or amend any reservation should a Major Tournament or other Competition be arranged – in which case you will be notified and alternative dates suggested. Should a suitable alternative date not be agreed, any deposit paid will be refunded to you.
In the most unlikely event of play not being possible on the chosen day the Club reserves the right to cancel your reservation.
The Club reserves the right to carry out works on the course and greens, if deemed necessary, without giving prior notification.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Please ensure all your group are aware of the general Health & Safety Guidelines.
On arrival please familiarise yourself with the Health & Safety notices posted on the notice boards in the Changing Rooms.
FOOD/CATERING ARRANGEMENTS:
For your food requirements, please contact the House Manager on 01606 883800, Option 3 to discuss/arrange this.
We would ask that final numbers are agreed at least 5 days prior to your visit. Should fewer members of your party actually partake than have been ordered for then you will be charged if catering has been prepared.
If you would like food other than that on our Visitors Menus please contact the House Manager and every effort will be made to cater for your requirements.
Please note that prices quoted for bookings beyond the current year may be subject to increase before the date you are due to play. Organisers of societies should check our up to date prices, shortly before they are due to play, to avoid unnecessary “surprises”.
PAYMENT OF GREEN FEE / CATERING & BAR BILLS:
Payment of the Green Fee balance should be made in the Professional’s Shop on the day of play by either Cash or Debit / Credit card. If catering has been arranged in advance payment of the Green Fee balance, Catering and Drinks can be made in the Clubhouse.
Amounts owing for your visit should be settled on or before the date of your visit - if you wish to pay subsequent to the date of your visit this should be agreed with the Secretary in advance.
Unfortunately, cheques may not be accepted unless received in the Secretary’s Office a minimum of 3 weeks before the date of your visit.
ON ARRIVAL:
On arrival at the Club, the organiser should call at the Pro’s Shop to collect the Security Door Code for the day, allowing access to the Clubhouse. Green fees must be paid prior to play in the Pro’s Shop, when receipts etc. will be issued (unless alternative payment arrangements have been made with the Office)
PLAY:
Visiting parties may play in two, three or four balls as agreed when making the reservation. Play can be from the 1st or 10th tees depending on your tee time – times allocated must be strictly adhered to. It is expected that there will be no “undue delay” and any reports of “slow play” or “poor golfing etiquette” or "lack of adequate golfing ability" may result in the cancellation of later times and/or players being asked to leave the course.
Valid Handicap Certificates are not required for General Play; however players should be conversant with golf etiquette and of a sufficient standard to complete their round in a timely and competent manner.
TEES OF THE DAY:
Play will be from Yellow or Red Tee markers.
Scorecards can be obtained from the Professional’s shop. Yardage Marker posts to the side of fairways are to the centre of the green and are themselves “Movable Obstructions”.
COURSE CLOSURE:
The Club cannot control the weather and players/groups booking golf must accept the risk that they may not be able to play some or all their golf if the weather is bad.
Anyone booking food in advance must accept the risk that they will be required to pay for catering (based on previously agreed numbers/ arrangements), even if they are unable to play some/all of their golf, given the fact that food will be bought/prepared in advance of your golf event.
If you are unable to play golf at all due to the course being closed/play being suspended (e.g. due to bad weather), no charge will be made for golf. However, please note that it is Club policy is to take a non-refundable deposit of £10 per player when making group bookings. The Club, at its discretion, may decide to offer partial refunds or limited alternative golf to players who have paid in advance but do not have the option/opportunity to complete their round due to suspension of play. The Committee, at its discretion, may decide to charge reduced green fees or provide limited alternative golf to groups where some/all players do not have the option/opportunity to complete their round due to suspension of play.
The Club will decide if the course is closed, if play is to be suspended and if play is to be resumed and its’ decision will be final - players should be prepared to proceed as per Rule 6-8.
BUGGIES AND TROLLEYS:
Trolleys can be hired from the Professional. Please contact them direct on 01606 883800 Option 2 to make a reservation. No trolleys are permitted in the Clubhouse.
Trolleys must not be taken on greens or tees and all directional route signs must be observed.
Any visitor with a disability (within the meaning of the Equality Act 2010) or who has a Medical Exemption Certificate, and is unable to play golf without the use of a buggy may use either their own (and produce a valid certificate of insurance for third party liabilities) or hire one.
Anyone using a buggy must read our Buggy Policy and sign the appropriate forms indicating munderstanding of and willingness to comply with the Policy.
Please note that the booking of buggies in advance is advised to avoid disappointment. Copies of insurance documents may also be forwarded in advance of your visit.
No private buggies of any description are allowed without prior permission from the Secretary or Professional - a valid certificate of insurance for third party liabilities will be required.
